Executive are the ones who do the tasks....i.e, executive functions Legislative makes laws..... In Indian case, executive consists of the administrative hierarchy and the council of ministers headed by the PM.....Legislature consists of the parliament and President as the head of state....as per our consti, the heads of executive (i.e ministers ) should be members of the legislature In USA, executive and legislature are separated....i.e, the president who heads the executive is not a member of the legislature (Congress)....He is not responsible to the congress (contrast this with the collective responsibility of our council of ministers to the lok sabha)....
