July 1, 2014: July 1st is Knife Freedom Day in Tennessee. Knife Rights' repeal of the ban on automatic (switchblade) knives and the carry of knives over four inches in length "with intent to go armed," a vague law subject to abusive interpretation, goes into effect today. Combined with Knife Law Preemption that Knife Rights passed in Tennessee last year, which rendered null and void all local laws more restrictive than state law, this means that all law-abiding citizens of the Volunteer State can now own and carry the knife of their choice.
a 7 inch blade
In order for a lock-back knife to be the legal size, the blade cannot be longer than seven inches. However, carrying a lock-back knife in public is still considered illegal regardless of its size.
Based on the law, pocket knifes seem to be the ONLY knife you can carry in public, but only in defense.
4 inches
i have know idea.......i was hopeing you would know......hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
In Colorado, there are no specific size restrictions on knives that you can carry, meaning you can carry knives of any length, including larger fixed-blade knives. However, it is important to note that while open carry is generally allowed, certain knives, such as those considered dangerous or switchblades, may have restrictions in specific locations or circumstances. Additionally, carrying a knife concealed may be subject to different regulations, and it's advisable to check local laws for any specific ordinances. Always ensure that your knife carry complies with any applicable laws in the area you are in.
Concealed carry under 4 inches, open carry some people say 6 inches but technicallyyou can open carry any length, even a sword. You just have to be able to justify your reason to carry it when a police officer asks you. Self defence is not considered a sufficient reason to carry any knife in Canada. Do a search on bladeforums and there'san extensive post on this subject.
The best size for a pocket knife typically depends on its intended use and personal preference. A blade length of around 2.5 to 3.5 inches is ideal for everyday carry, providing a good balance between portability and functionality. For tasks requiring more power, a slightly larger knife may be beneficial, while for minimalistic carry, a smaller blade can suffice. Ultimately, the best size is one that fits comfortably in your pocket and meets your specific needs.
Bulgaria is the closest size to Tennessee.
Yes, I carry them and sell them on ebay. They are the flat aluminum and carbide one that does steel blades, serrated blades, scissors, and broadhead arrows. search seller barty99 on ebay.
It depends on the size and material of the knife.
There seems to be a great deal of confusion on the subject. Many believe it to be no longer than 3" while others are still saying 5-6". The statutes on the laws themselves seem only to touch on it very vaguely, mostly saying about criminal use or intent. Realistically outside of the federal laws in place where you cant take them on school, or federal property, or airlines.. You shouldn't have any problem defending a claim against you for any size knife that isn't a switchblade. Also they cant stop you for a knife if its not of obvious intent that your going to be using it for illegal activity. I asked a police friend of mine what the laws are for concealed knife carrying in Minnesota and he informed he that 5 inches is the legal limit for a concealed knife.
