This really isn't a question. If you are referring to fog lines on the road they are broken for roads and driveways only. White lines are between lanes that are traveling in the same direction. The broken white lines indicate whether it is alright for someone to pass another car.

The only thing I can think it might mean is brokan hopes. The fact that they were white might be more along the lines of broken or lost innocence.
Possibilities are: Single or Double white line, Single or Double yellow line, Solid white line next to broken white line, Solid yellow line next to broken white line, No line on rural country lane roads.
