S Corps are "pass through" entities. They generally pay no income taxes (payroll taxes, sales taxes, etc, are just like any other business). Instead the income is not taxed on the Corporate level but is "passed through" to the owners, who must show it all as income that year (although they may not actually get cash). (Unlike a normal corporation which pays taxes, but may or may not make any distributions/dividends to it's owners to pay tax on).

No, an S Corporation cannot directly pay your personal taxes. As an S Corporation owner, you are responsible for paying your personal taxes separately from the business entity.

Who pays the taxes within a S corporation?

In an S corporation, the business itself does not pay federal income taxes at the corporate level. Instead, the income, deductions, and credits pass through to the shareholders, who report these amounts on their personal tax returns. This means that shareholders pay taxes on their share of the S corporation's income, regardless of whether the income is distributed as dividends.

How does an S Corp pay taxes?

An S Corporation pays taxes by passing its income, deductions, and credits through to its shareholders, who report them on their individual tax returns. The corporation itself does not pay federal income tax, but it files an informational tax return to report its financial activity to the IRS.

Does a S-Corporation have to pay unemployment insurance?

Yes, an S-Corporation is generally required to pay unemployment insurance taxes for its employees. However, the corporation itself does not pay unemployment taxes on the income of its shareholders who are also employees, as long as they are actively working and receiving wages. Each state may have specific rules and rates, so it’s important for S-Corporations to comply with local regulations regarding unemployment insurance.

Does obama support increasing taxes on S corporations?

This is a double sided question. The direct answer is that Obama will not raise taxes on S-Corporations. S-Corporations rarely pay taxes. Their profits flow through a schedule K-1 to the owners individual income tax return. If Obama raises personal income taxes, which he probably will, then yes you will pay more. The biggest issue with Obama and S-Corporations is the fact that Obama wants the profits from an S-Corporation to be subject to Social security Taxes. Under present law, an owner of an S-Corporation can take distributions of profits and not pay social security taxes. The only tax you pay on S-Corp profits is federal income taxes. If he does pass this change then owners of S-Corps will pay upwards of 15.3% of their profits for Social Security Taxes. Thus eliminating the need to form an S-Corp.

How does double taxation of a corporate income occur?

Income to the corporation, as a legal "person", is taxable against the corporation. When the treasury pays dividends from its income to its shareholders, the dividend is taxable again as "income" to the shareholders. A "subchapter S-corporation" avoids this by skipping the corporate taxes and directly taxing the shareholders for any corporate income.

What does pay taxes?

Taxes don't actually pay for anything. They go to the Federal Reserve, which is a private owned corporation, not run by the government.
