Like on a freeway in order to cover more ground I would suppose but within reason. Most cops will go about 5 miles over I have noticed, unless they are trying to blend in in order to observe. Everywhere else they had better fallow the local laws like everyone else. This is only one persons opinion and not fact.

as long as you do not exceed the posted speed limit. the posted speed limit is the maximun speed which a vehicle may be operated. it does not have a built in tolerance for five or ten miles per hour. it is the LIMIT, you could theorecially get a citation for even ONE mile in speed over the limit.

Can you get pulled over for going the speed limit in unsafe weather conditions?

Can you go 5 over the speed limit in Illinois?

A speed limit is a "limit". There is no "can I go 4 miles over the limit" because that violates the law on which the sign is based! Now, some officers let small infractions like '5 miles over' go without even pulling the driver over. But it IS still a ticket-able offense and if the officer wants to enforce the letter of the law you will get a ticket. By the way, in traffic court, the Judge would get ticked off if a driver tried to argue that 5-over the limit does not warrant a ticket.
