No, it is not legal to have a wolf as a pet in the state of Illinois, but having a dog-wolf breed if you will is perfectly legal. I`m not too sure but I believe it is 93% wolf and lower is fine.

no it is illegal to own a wolf or wolf dog mix in Illinois.

Yes, it is legal, but you need a permit. I live in Vermont and know many people who legally have pet wolves and the animals are very happy where they live, just as any domesticated dog is.

If you are considering a wolf as a pet, please do all the research you can. Wolf ownership is most definately NOT a matter to be taken lightly.

No. Here is a complete list of prohibited animals in Maryland:

(1) fox, skunk, raccoon, or bear;

(2) caiman, alligator, or crocodile;

(3) member of the cat family other than the domestic cat;

(4) hybrid of a member of the cat family and a domestic cat if the hybrid weighs over 30 pounds;

(5) member of the dog family other than the domestic dog;

(6) hybrid of a member of the dog family and a domestic dog;

(7) non-human primate, including a lemur, monkey, chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan, marmoset, loris, or tamarin; or;

(8) poisonous snake in the family groups of Hydrophidae, Elapidae, Viperidae, and Crotolidae.

Answer 2:I used to think that no USA state allowed wolves as pets, but there are actually quite a handful that do. Maryland, as seen in the first answer, is NOT one of them.

If the wolf concerned is not an endangered species, yes. If it is, you may need special permissions to care for one, and you could be completely unable to get one.
