John Lennon was fatally shot outside his apartment building (The Dakota) on December 8, 1980. He was killed by an obsessive-maniac named Mark David Chapman. He said voices told him to do it and that he was also influenced by the young-adult novel "A Catcher in the Rye." John left behind two sons (Julian and Sean Lennon) and his wife Yoko Ono.

Beatles. NOT a question!
He was the only Beatles member with a happy childhood. The other members didn't. His home was at a dead end and had an outdoor toilet.
he was a member of the beatles?
Mainly for being a member of The Beatles (arguably the biggest band of all time). Also, for having a solo music career; being a peace activist; his marriage to Yoko Ono; posing naked on an album cover with Yoko Ono; and for being shot dead in 1980.
Well, two of them are dead ( John Lennon- 1980, shot dead by a crazy man and George Harrison in 2001 from cancer) However, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are both well and touring still.
The musicians who were member's of the Beatles were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe. All other musicians were not members of the Beatles.
