It depends on what kind of murder you mean. There are different kinds, different degrees of murder. But for shear volume Hitler and his extermination of more that 6 million Jews during WWII has to be one of the deadliest.

QUANTITY of sins is irrelevant. The Book of Romans say, " All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" and "the consequence of sin is death".

That is why Jesus paid the price on the cross. It does not matter how many sins you have committed, His grace and love is sufficient. However, if we accept and believe this to be true, then we would not wish to heap more suffering upon Him and thus we want to be as sinless as possible, doing as He wishes us to do and sharing His gospel of salvation.

Prolific, meaning number of victims, would have to be Adolf Hitler, who ordered the murders of millions during WWII. The most prolific serial killer was probably Countess Erszebet Bathory of Romania. In the early 1600's she is believed to have killed at least 600 young girls, most from a nearby village, and bathed in their blood. She was operating under the dillusion that bathing in the blood of virgins would keep her young and beautiful. It may have worked. She was banished to a remote tower in her own castle where she died at the age of 54. She never did grow old.
