It depends on how violent the batterer is and if they have no fear of the law then yes, a restraining order is basically worthless. If the batterer threatens you by phone; email or stalks you (appears everywhere you are) then report this to the police. If the batterer has been arrest before there will be a case report on him and you can call the police for help. If you are deathly afraid of this person then there are Women/Men's Abuse Centers and you can call your Mental Health to get the phone number. They will guide you through the process and keep you in a 'Safe House' and even take you to court if need be to press charges against your batterer.
Women became more likely to win custody of children after a divorce
Advocating for abused women, the man won an international award.
If you are the mother you should be able to leave with the children. Depending on your state who ever has the children in their custody more likely gets the children if in a stable environment.Another PerspectiveUntil there has been a custody order issued by the court both parents have the same parental rights. Most women who separate from their husbands pending a divorce keep their children with them, however, if the husband objects the wife needs to consult with an attorney or court advocate and try to obtain a temporary custody order.
Her tireless efforts advocating rights for both women and children worldwide and her philanthropy to further those efforts.
Many times it is seen as more natural for children to stay with their mother, especially since Men are usually portrayed in culture as "Child-inept." A lot of it has to do with the reason the parents are divorcing, if it's for domestic violence of any kind of course the kids will go with the other parent. Ultimately the question of custody will be decided by who can prove to the Jude that they are better suited parents: have a good job, appropriate life style, can provide, etc.Another PerspectiveBecause in this time it has been acknowledged that throughout the history of the world women have been the parent in charge of childcare; women have been given the role of caring for the home and children and women are more accustomed to responding to the needs of others. Surprisingly, it is only recently that women were favored for custody. In past centuries they were not, the children were considered the property of their father. In many cases men do have custody of their children.
The rights of women and children have been championed by various leaders and organizations throughout history. Notable figures include Susan B. Anthony and Emmeline Pankhurst for women's suffrage, and Malala Yousafzai for girls' education. Additionally, organizations such as UNICEF and UN Women play crucial roles in advocating for and protecting the rights of children and women globally. Their efforts have significantly advanced gender equality and child welfare.
During the Enlightenment, women's roles were largely confined to the domestic sphere, where they were expected to manage households and raise children. However, some women began to challenge these norms by participating in salons, engaging in intellectual discussions, and advocating for women's rights and education. Figures like Mary Wollstonecraft emerged, arguing for gender equality and the importance of women's education. Despite societal constraints, the Enlightenment laid the groundwork for future movements advocating for women's rights.
spurred by the second great awakening, women fought for temperance, suffrage, children labor laws, and the abolition of slavery(at lest northern women did. southern women did not fight for this, but against it) among other things.

Unless your custody agreement prevents him from bringing the children around other women, or if she is somehow endangering the children, there is nothing you can do.
