A famous assassin was Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski(April 11, 1935 - March 5, 2006) was a convicted murderer and notorious contract killer. He worked for several Italian-American crime families, and claimed to have murdered over 200 men over a career that lasted 30 years. Though he would fall more in to the category of hit man rather than assassin. Assassins are usually more skilled and kill in a variety of different methods and remain invisible, Hit men are hired thugs who kill violently and messy with little caution.

Mr Vexille is the only other that could contend but the identity cannot be confirmed. This person was, and probably still is hunted by most secret services and government agencies throughout the world. He was reported to have killed political and criminal targets in 27 different countries for various organisations. No reference can be found to this person. If the existence is true, then Mr Vexille would take the title largely due to still being active and unknown.
