Why do some Jews allow divorce?

They get married because they think that men shoudn't be alone and to have children, a gift that God gave them. They also get married for many of the same reasons as crhstians, e.g It's a blessed act.

Divorce IS allowed in Judaism. Jews divorce for same reasons as everyone else, but Orthodox Jews divorce when:

1. No children after 10 years of marriage

2. Wives ruining their dinners

3. Other "ridiculous" reasons

It's hard to believe, but it's best to have BOTH a Jewish divorce and a civil divorce.

It is preferred that arguing couples strive for reconciliation, and that is the first thing that a Rabbi will recommend to them. However, when reconciliation is out of the question, yes, the Torah does provide a framework for divorce, which Jews use when needed.

YES. Divorce is considered a horrible choice, but if the couple has irreconcilable differences or serious issues, it is a mitzvah or commandment to get a divorce. The Rabbis have long discussions about the conditions for divorce and how property is allocated in a divorce.

It is notable, however, that in Jewish divorces, it is required for the husband to present his wife with a "get" (גט) or bill of divorce. As a result, in cases where the husband is unavailable (due to being missing for an inordinate period of time), unaccessible (due to intentionally evading his wife), or simply refusing to divorce his wife, the wife is "chained" to her husband and unable to get a divorce unless extraordinary Jewish judicial processes occur. These "chained" women are called "agunot" (עגונות) and have serious difficulties moving on with their lives.
