Why do terrorists want to kill Americans?

Islamic extremists believe that the western world is evil, and conflicts with their own values. by attacking the worlds only super power, it was more of a stament to the rest or the world's Islamic extremists that that their ideals are within reach, ie the downfall of western society is attainable and not just a pipe dream. but the western world has ideals that are just as strong, and now the entire globe is a war zone for these two groups to battle.

This is a complex issue and simplistic answers such as, "they hate us for our freedoms" are more distracting than helpful.

During WWI AND WWII, we were at war with countries that had large numbers of people from those countries that had immigrated here and we feared retaliation from them. Even those who had become citizens or were first generation born here.

The government felt that if we killed relatives of immigrants from enemy countries, there was a good chance the families here would turn against Americans. Or that these immigrants still held close ties to their home countries and could be used as enemy spies.

So the government actively promotes distrust and fear of these immigrants to justify mistreating them. The targets were the Italians, Germans, Japanese, Irish, all Communists, all Black Americans, all Asians, all Muslims and anyone from Arabic speaking nations.

It worked for those wars and the plan is still being used today for our current wars and problems.

It's has been the same treatment for each group of immigrants. The worst being the Japanese who were forced into internment camps and lost their homes, businesses, everything all because they were feared.

People hate for reasons that impact their lives, such as; being bombed out, held in refugee camps, your nation being invaded on the premise of being liberated from a tyrant that the invader supported and kept in power until the tyrant wasn't useful anymore.

America has created terrorists where there were none.

Because the nations targeted today as being centers of terrorism are Muslim, it's being pushed that all Muslims are terrorists, no matter where they live, including the United States.

Because this kind of Propaganda is unethical, has no basis in truth, and is racially biased, it is causing distrust and fear around the world of American motives and policies.
