Why does America not like Mexican Immigrants?

Its not that Americans don't like immigrants per se. We do not like people illegally coming into our country, speaking another language, insisting that things be written in that language, insisting on getting benefits that American tax payers flip the bill for, raising our crime rate, flying the Mexican flag, bringing their gangs and drugs or a number of other things that effectively trash our culture while insisting on bring their culture here. If that's not enough we simply do not need more people. But if an immigrant wants to come here they need to become American not be a Mexican in America.

In other words, racism and xenophobia.

Media culture often blames problems on Mexican immigrants that they are not responsible for, as it is easier to blame a target other than oneself. For example, economic problems can be blamed on immigrants as opposed to overspending and under taxing.

It probably may have something to do with the overwhelming perception that many of them are in this country (US) illegaly. Although it may seem unfair, it the legal ones suffer for the sins of the illegal ones.

Actually, much of it is not racism. Scientists consider Mexicans to be Caucasians too for the most part. What a number of White Americans dislike in that case is not so much the person's race, but how some live and the fact they are moving here and taking jobs and resources they believe are theirs. This attitude is particularly directed toward those who break the laws to come here and then break laws once they get here. However, due to such actions by illegal immigrants, some people do indeed take it out on all Mexican Immigrants, including those who came here legally and who are also law-abiding citizens.

Some Americans come across as racist due to bad experiences. For instance, a woman lived in an apartment complex and a group of intoxicated Mexicans would sexually harass her every time she went outside and would demand that she speak to them, no matter who busy she was. After enduring that, she finally started lashing out at them and telling them to go back home. No, that was not right of her, but that reaction developed over time in response to bad behaviors directed to her by just one group and not others. That is certainly only a fraction who behave that way. Even among undocumented citizens, most don't behave as sexist and desperate as those men did.
