because baby deers do actually belong in the wild and if you take on out of its habitat it will not be used to your habitat and you are not allowed taking care of any deer, even a fully grown one. Some wild animals are used to surviving and depending on themselves for food and survival.

What happens to the baby deer if mother gets killed?

If it dies soon after the mother is killed, it either died from starvation or mountain lions, bears, or wolves ate it. It could live. A human could find it and take care of it, or (fictionally) the deer's father might be able to protect it while it grows up enough to take care of itself. That's what happened in Bambi.
