The 22nd Amendment was added to limit the amount of terms a President can serve in office. It says that they can serve a total of two terms or no more than ten years. They can serve ten years if the take over for a President from the office of Vice President but if they take over for m ore than two years that counts as a term and they would then only be able to run for one more term.
