Why would a US Marshall arrest someone instead of a police officer?

THE US Marshal appointed for a particular district is unlikely to arrest someone themselves. It is a politically appointed position who is not required to have law enforcement experience. However, a DEPUTY US Marshal is likely to make arrests. They might arrest someone rather than a police officer if it is for a violation of federal law. For example, the US Marshall's service is responsible for federal prisoners and tracking down those who are wanted for federal crimes and those who escape federal custody.

Waste of money to the taxpayers. They love to create more positions to waste money. They should cut back on these "high level" positions and create positions that make more sense and at a way lower pay. I mean these are tax paying positions and by tax paying positions I mean that these are a public worker position and they should be paying that much as they depend on the public's money. It is like a being priest or a nun but you actually get paid for your job. So yes please review this and change it. If you want to make money go work for a corporation or self employment is best.

It is the same thing. They just needed to create a higher level for coolness. No one wants to be a police officer and what a waste to taxpayers. No one says anything. I guess people either love their money being wasted or certain group of people pay taxes and they are outnumbered and have no choice or think they have no other choice. You always have another choice you just don't want to go there.
