Yes, due to the fact if u work in the heat all day they MUST let u sit down and eat or just let u cool off for a few minutes.

This depends on how many hours you work in a day. If you work 6 hours in a day your employer is required to give you a 30 minute break for lunch, if you work 4 hours, then they are required to give you a 15 minute break-- both of these can be paid or unpaid, that is up to your employer

This would be against state employment laws. In 8 hours you should have a 10 minute break and a 30 minute dinner / lunch break.

Do you have to stay at work on your breaks and lunch?

Yes.

How many breaks allowed in a day?

Typically there is one break for a 0-4 hour day, one break and one half hour lunch for 6-7 hours and for 8 hours usually two breaks and one hour lunch. Usually breaks / lunches are given somewhere around every two hours depending on the work place / type of work/ and state location. These are typical and used many places but each state has different laws that can dictate more or less. For instance some states require an hour lunch per 8 hours work while others require only a half hour lunch. 2 -10min breaks 1 30 min lunch break

In an eight working hours how much hours for Lunch can be provided?

Usually a half hour. Plus two 15 minute breaks. Some companies have a Union. They will require you to be at work for 9 hours - you get the same half hour off and the two breaks but you do it without pay. Some jobs give you an hour for lunch.

In the state of Kansas what are the labor laws regarding lunch breaks?

There is no federal law requiring breaks or lunch breaks. Some states have state laws that govern breaks and lunch breaks. Kansas does not have any state laws requiring breaks or lunch breaks. So your employer can legally work you an 8 or 10 hour shift without a break.

How frequently do Walmart employees receive breaks?

It depends on the length of your shift and they only schedule shifts in half hour periods (almost never shorter than 4.5 hours). All lunches and breaks should be spaced out with 2 hours between them. Work two hours: no break or lunch. Work 4 hours: one break at the 2 hour mark. Work 6 hours: it's 2 breaks at the 2 and 4 hour mark. Work 8 hours: it's 2 breaks at the 2 and 6 hour marks with a half hour lunch at the 4 hour mark (2, 4 (lunch), and 6). If you work 9 hours it's the same as 8 hours except you get an hour lunch. If you work 11 hours (rare): it's three breaks and a lunch spaced out thusly: 2, 4 (lunch), 6, 8 marks. If you work more than 12 hours (very rare) you get two lunches: you get 3 breaks that begin at the 2, 6, and 10 hour marks and two lunches that begin at the 4, and 8 hour marks (2, 4 (lunch), 6, 8 (2nd lunch), 10). This is all theoretical however because sometimes you're with a customer and go to lunch a few minutes beyond your time. Not a big deal, however you cannot work more than 6 hours without taking a lunch. The cash register will not let you sign in once you've worked 5 hours and 45 minutes and will begin warning you at 5 and a half hours. They call it "locking out" (or "locked out", if you've already been). They can reprimand you if you go to lunch late...get a meal violation. If I remember correctly it's a maximum of 2 in a 6 month period and then you're fired. I've worked at walmart 6 months now and have never even come close to having to worry about a meal violation. The management at my store respect the employees breaks and lunches and they take them very seriously. If I'm on break they won't bother me. If I don't want a break they make sure I take one anyway. Some Walmarts, california, I think have gotten in trouble for making employees work over their unpaid lunch shifts but these are just individual stores and not representative of walmart ads a whole. It represents the poor managers themselves who make these decisions and they are reprimanded by the company for doing so. Walmart as a corporation does not support making employees work over lunch or not take one. Quite the opposite, they enforce them to the benefit of the employee.

Do I have to take lunch if you work more than 8 hours?

You don't have to take lunch no matter how much I work.

How many hours must a worker work in a day to qualify for a lunch break?

Anyone who works about 6 - 12 hours a day should have a min of 30 min break which in most cases is divided by two. (that will make two 15 min breaks in 6-12h period) Big companies will give you an hour lunch (that might not be paid by the employer) plus one or two 15 min breaks. It all depends where you work, but the minimum time limit for break/s for 8 hours of work is 30 min.

Do employers have to allow employees break time?

Under some US state laws and most European labor laws, yes. But they are subject to various restrictions as to when and for how long. The US federal wage and hour laws do not require lunch or coffee breaks. However, when employers do offer short breaks (usually lasting about 5 to 20 minutes), federal law considers the breaks as compensable work hours that would be included in the sum of hours worked during the work week. This is primarily considered in determining if overtime was worked. (Lunch breaks are not included in pay or in overtime calculation.)
