They were using the Glock chambered in 45GAP but have just switched and went to the Glock in 45ACP.
Well, "police issue" according to which department? Glock pistols can hold anywhere from six to 17 rounds, depending on the model. It all depends on which one the department you have in mind uses.
The Air Force did issue them to pilots at one point, although I don't know if they're still in use, or if they were replaced with the FN 5.7 as announced.
The last I heard, it was Glock pistols in 9 MM. I think it is a Glock 19.

A Glock 22 (.40 cal) and a Glock 27 (.40 cal) as a backup.Actually the standard NYPD sidearm is a Smith & Wesson 5946, Glock 19, and formerly the SIG-Sauer P226.
The Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) standard issue handgun is the Glock 17 Gen5. This firearm is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol known for its reliability and accuracy. It has been chosen for its durability, ease of use, and consistent performance by the LAPD.
The federal agencies use the same ammo to train as they issue to carry. Jacketed hollow points.
A new Glock 22 typically runs about $500. A used Glock 22 in excellent shape can range from $350 to $600. Everything really depends on the generation it is, condition (which should be perfectly fine, i mean it is a glock), if it has any extras, and if it is police issue or not. I would say a police issue in good shape would probably be worth $500-$600 easy.
This can vary widely according to the needs and requirement of the agency involved. However, overall, probably the most commonly used caliber handgun in use by civilian (and military) law enforcement is the 9 millimeter. VERY few law enforcement agencies utilize a revolver as their standard-issue sidearm any longer, and the semi-automatic pistols have taken over this role. While MANY arms manufacturers produce handguns in this caliber, the Glock is among the most common.
