What service can I use as a federal prison inmate locator that provides quick, fast and confidential service?
I am looking for a free inmate locator, what would be the best website people can recommend?
EDIT: This seems to work well for this specific purpose: http://www.bop.gov/iloc2/LocateInmate.jsp There are different ways: You can by searching through search engines like yahoo, google and such which provides communication between the inmates and the outsde world, either for friendship or for a mate or such. To me this is the best way.
There are several online sites that allow you to search for inmates these include write A Prisoner , Federal Bureau of Prisons Federal Inmate locator and Corrections Connection. State Departments of Correction websites also have searches providing the name or number of the inmate is known.
I have a friend who has been in jail for a long time. He has recently been sent to another facility and I haven't heard from him in a while. Which free inmate locator should I use when searching for him?
My old friend had to go to prison recently. Do you know where i can find a good prison inmate look up site? Or would it be better to call the prisons directly?
Contact prison that the person is currently at, and ask for the procedure.Comment made after reading the discussion page: At this point I think your best bet would be to have an attorney start making inquiries on behalf of the inmate and requesting that the compassionate transfer be expedited. Apparently neither the inmate nor his family have enough 'clout' to sufficiently move the prison authorities to action.
In most cases, you can marry a prison inmate in reception as long as they meet the legal requirements for marriage. However, you may need to obtain permission from the prison authorities and follow specific procedures before the marriage can take place. It's best to check with the prison's administration for their specific guidelines on marrying an inmate in reception.
All federal prsions have certain pre-release centers located in their service areas to 'ease' the prisoners transition back into civilian life. The best bet is probably contacting the prison where the inmate is incarcerated and asking to which one he will be sent to.
Speaking from experience (county jails, state and federal prisons) it depends on the institution. The best to get a letter from one facility to another is completely circumvent the system by sending it to an outside party to reroute it.
Be cautious with this. Your probation may have some restriction in it that prevents you from associating with known criminals, or wording to that effect. Contact your probation officer for clarification.
Best way is through your lawyer, or by the courts served by an officer of the court.
Best information and pictures of the prison are posted at FedsGotMe.Com. They pretty much explain everything you need to know there. Tells all about how to prepare to surrender to Federal Prison. Best wishes and good luck.
