The FBI requires a 4 year degree to begin with, and any law enforcement or military experience is a huge plus. The applicant must also be in very good physical condition, and have good coordination. The FBI selects potential candidates based on these criteria and trains them as a group. They continue for several weeks and inadequate candidates are weeded out along the way. At the end of the training, the candidates who pass all the tests are given the opportunity for employment as an agent. If they accept, they are sworn in much like a police officer and given a security clearance depending on what division they are assigned to.
