CSI is a fictional group. Most police department investigators do not normally wear a uniform, but may wear coveralls (sometimes disposable coveralls). Some crime scenes are very messy.

If they are sworn law enforcement officers they wear some kind of uniform, if they are civilians they wear a uniform-like outfit or APPROPRIATE civilian clothing. NOTE; They do NOT dress as they are portrayed on some of the TV CSI shows!
