Taxes. That is where all governments in America get there money. Along with taxes they get money from the general fees, and fines to the public. Examples are, marriage licenses, (you have to pay for all licenses you get from the gov't) hunting licenses, illegal parking fees, speeding tickets, and general court fees.

The sales tax on gasoline is a fuel tax, which is labeled as a user tax. The taxes collected from gasoline purchases are remitted to the state government.

The government on both the state and federal levels collects various types of taxes. Cities typically make money from taxes and fees charged to residents, businesses, and visitors in the city. Cities also receive a portion of property taxes.
