Richard Lovelace (1618-1658) to Althea from prison(1649. The whole verse reads
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such liberty.
Her msin quote is " stone walls not a prison make nor iron bars not a cage"
Stone walls do not a prison make/nor iron bars a cage
Richard Lovelace, evidently a colonel, while in prison, wrote to an "Althea," saying "stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage. Found this by googling "stone walls do not a prison make"
ok it said.... In Loving Memory Winifred Foster Jackson Dear Wife Dear Mother 1870-1948
It means that you don't have to be surrounded by stone and iron to find yourself in a prison or in a cage... The strongest bars are not made of iron...but of your own fears. People go about their day to day lives never brave enough to step off the path and live their life against the grain. They're locked inside a cage of their own creation and they don't even realize it. They don't know what it truly means to be free. From the other side: freedom comes from within, from your attitude. Stone walls can not deny your inner freedom. See the Stoic, Epictetus's writings as well on this topic.
How you can tell if the cage bars are to far apart is if its head can fit through them than the gap is to big
You can teach your hamster to climb the bars of the cage like a ladder, or do monkey bars at the ceiling of the cage.
A cage with bars and with reliable doors on the cage so they dont come open while the hamster is inside
No you can't I tried to but it didn't work so I got a new cage
if you're looking at it in a moral way, prison is like a cage, bars, and no freedom. people arent just being exceptional with animals who attack. i hope that answers your question.
If you are "rattling my cage," you are trying to irritate me or make me mad. The image is of someone at a zoo, rattling the bars of the animal's cage to irritate them.
As long as the cage isn't close enough for the metal bars to become hot
