Certain countries have agreements to allow foreign convicts to serve their sentences in their home country. Using these agreements is a decision of the country where the conviction was made.
How can a Redford Michigan inmate be moved to a county jail that is in the same county as they sentenced him in.
They could if you moved to that county and they check your record. But mostly, the answer is a no.
I know in my Son's case they have moved him because of being overcrowded, and then they moved him back. He was at a county jail and they sent him over to a Federal Jail for about a month and sent him back. They are mixing to move him again but it is because he took a Plea Bargain and will need to serve 5 months more in a State Jail, he is in a County Jail right now but overcrowding is the main reason he isn't moving right now.
I'm a police officer and recently a case has been reopened in my jurisdiction. However, the suspect has recently been moved to a different state and I was never informed of the destination. How can I locate an inmate of another jail?
No. There are no provisions to allow a person who is sentenced to serve time in one state to actually serve that time in another.
Yes. Prisoners are often housed and moved between county, state, and federal institutions according space availability, contracts for providing services, etc.
Question is unclear. Federal prisoners can be moved by several means including bus van, or aircraft. State prisoners are customarily transported within the state by prisoner transport vans or buses.
"In transit" for an inmate typically means they are being moved or transferred from one correctional facility to another. This may happen for various reasons such as court appearances, medical treatment, or to serve their sentence in a different facility. During transit, inmates are usually under the supervision of correctional officers.
You will be moved to state custody ONLY if you were convicted of a felony and sentenced to MORE than a year. On the other hand. . . if the state prison system is over-crowded, they may be reimbursing the local County Jails to house state prisoners. In that case you stand a good chance of staying where you are.
the prisoner gets cuffed both feet and hands then he is scorted out the room by several guards
As far as I know, until they are moved to another facility, then you have to do a new list and have the people approved againAnswer:In Michigan prisons, the form remains valid regardless of how many times an inmate is moved. Michigan inmates may change their lists twice per year, in May and November. Incidentally, this is the same time frame changes to approved telephone list may be made as well.
No. State are sovereign governments under the constitution, and one state cannot enter another state to retrieve a prisoner without permission from the state holding the prisoner. Counties are only political subdivisions within a state, and there are no such protections. A prisoner may be moved from one county to another within the same state with no court intervention or violation of rights.
