Here the word because is repeatedly used in a meaningful way.

You can use it, except that it would be possible to rework the sentence to avoid it. However, if you were to use it, the situation would run something like this:

Person "A" asks person "B": Have you had your Flu shot?

"B" replies: Yes, I've had it.

Person "C" asks "A": Did you ask "B" if he had had his Flu shot?

"A"replies: Yes, I asked him. He said he had had his shot already.
