I don't speak Farsi, but I've been exposed to the accent a lot. From what it sounds like, all syllables have the same stress. Whereas in English, different syllables in a given word typically have different stress. For example, the "vic" in "victory" is stressed and syllables "tor-ee" have the same stress. In Farsi, it would sounds more like "veec-toor-eee." Also, a lot of Persian speakers have trouble with "th" and "wh" sounds. As in, "the" and "white." I've heard "duh" or "dee" in place of "the" or "tree" in place of "three." "Vhite" and "veendow" are commonly swapped with "white" and "window."

An important thing to remember is to open your mouth when you speak. When speaking Farsi, you move your mouth a lot. In English, not so much. Persians are very warm, loving, and not in a rush. This should come through when you're doing you're doing your accent. Otherwise it's just an accent; not an impression.

So draw out words, place the same emphasis on each syllable, change some consonants, and think like a Persian! I hope that helped and good luck!

Is Persian different from Arabic?

Ofcourse it is ! Persian ( known as Farsi ) is used mainly in Iran, while Arabic is used throughout the Gulf. The script is the same, but the language it not. The two languages are as different as french and German. Farsi is gentle and poetic, without much of an accent but Arabic is very bold and strong with an explicit accent. Eventhough the scripts are the same, you can tell most easily the difference between an Arabic and an Iranian paragraph with the first glance.
