It is customary for Hispanics have four names, as follows:

First Name + Middle Name + Paternal Grandfather's Last Name + Maternal Grandfather's Last Name

However, nowadays, the rules are less strict and traditions are changing. Many parents decide to drop the middle name, or to hyphenate the two last names, or to only put one last name rather than two.

I thought they had 2 last names so they had a better chance of naming the father
