Both Language and thought are affected by one's culture.

In simple means- if you are in Japan most likely you will see conservative family values and gender roles and they will all speak a Japanese language.

One study pretty much showed that if you do the "pick the odd one out" test in certain cultures they will tend to answer differently making some earlier I.Q. tests culturally biased.

SAT's and ACT's, ASVAB etc. are still sometimes criticized for certain questions because they seem to try to test the I.Q. among the other things.

Pick the odd one out:

a. barge

b. aircraft carrier

c. fish

d. moving truck

Those who live out on an island or those who live around the ocean may say the moving truck is the odd one while most in the western culture will say that the odd one is fish as all others are used to transport something.
