France has become more engaged in American culture. They don't necessarily like us, but they are increasingly interested in our culture. They enjoy our movies, our food, our clothing, et cetera. For awhile, the French would have a breakfast of coffee, Croissants, fruit, et cetera, but lately the French teenagers have been enjoying quick to-go breakfasts like our American cereals. Those are just examples of how they have been engaged in the American culture... but that's some of how their culture has changed in the past few years.

answer 2:

I am french an I agree with the answer 1, Your movies are better, your music, kids loves Americans cereals, burgers, hip hop culture and EVERYBODY like American people in France, I never heard people who hate USA, only American people say that everytime (WHY?) and since Bush decided that France was evil some American hates us... We are interested in your culture and you are intersted in our, nobody is better than other, we have cultural diversity and that's great, we can be enriched by each other, we are on the same planet. PEACE

In this day and age, I don't know why one would want to but if one were of a mind to, you could: hide any accent that you might have by mimicking the natives. You could also dress like them to better assimilate yourself. Some people have also used skin bleaching and plastic surgery to reduce color or prominent noses, lips, eyes etc.

How did France influence indigenous culture?

France influenced indigenous culture by setting up French structures in the French colonies of Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania. The French colonizers built schools where the instruction was in French. They cleared the land for roads, to connect French businesses, institutions and properties. They promoted Europe's religious traditionsthrough missionary priests, nuns and groups. They released publications such as religious literature, newspapers, and textbooks, that were oriented to French readers and speakers. They set up businesses, such as plantations, that were geared to the market needs of France, other colonial powers, and other European countries. They transplanted their government bureaucracy, and their French language as its spoken and written means of communication. As a consequence, the important cultural, economic and political meeting points in the French colonies were defined by fluency in French, familiarity with French ways of doing things, and capabilities in French enterprises.
