After living in France for the last 14 years of my life as a U.S. ambassador, I feel that I am something of an authority on this subject. In my time as an expatriot, I observed many French children partaking in such activities as re-enactments of the crucifixion as well as the occasional mooning of old French ladies.

Although this may sound odd or even unbelievable, I assure you that these customs are as old as the Eiffel Tower.

Cheers.
