Haitians speak Creole which is a language, not a dialect like some say. French is also the official language in Haiti, but contrary to what most people think, it is only spoken (properly) by the Privileged Haitians who have attended private schools.

Some haitians speak spanish because the Dominican Republic is so close and most travel back and forth to further their education in spanish.
