Puchungi is not in the DICCIONARIO DE LA LENGUA ESPAÑOLA. It appears to be a family name of some form of Latin derivation. There is a place on Answers.com where you can ask the nationality of a family name.

Puchunguita is a diminutive form of puchungua . It is heard in a few songs (Besame Puchunguita is an oldie, but there are newer ones out there) and seems to mean "sweetie" or something along those lines. It's not Spanish-from Spain, but possibly Cuban or Peruvian (based on where the songs are from.)
