Next to crumbling, the NATION was under heavy fire from all around. All around our NATION, Other countries and world powers such as China and their allied NATIONS were in fact pretty mad at us and began to counteract. Our NATION couldn't afford to loose another one of our allied NATIONS or else our NATION would fall and we would all be forced to speak Chinese.
