J'aimerais (cond. present) que tu sois (subj present) là.

or

Je souhaiterais que tu sois là.

or

Je voudrais que tu sois là.

The verb in the principal sentence is conjugated with the conditionnal present form, the subordonate is in the subjonctive form.

I wished you had been here =

j'aurais aimé (conditionnal past first form) que tu sois (present subjonctive) là

j'eusse aimé (conditionnal past 2nd form) que tu fus (past subjonctive) là

Do not translate literaly with - j'aime que tu sois (or fus) là It would mean (I like you to be here)
