The Present Perfect Continuous denotes an action which began in the past, has been going on up to the present and may be still going on.

The Present Perfect denote a complete action while with the Present Perfect Continuous there is no implication of completeness.

The Formation of the Present Perfect Continuous is

auxiliary verb "to have" (in present, past or future ) + "been" + "Participle I " (of the main verb):

I have been working

I had been working

I'll have been working

Examples:

It has been raining for two hours.

It has been raining since early morning.

It has been raining since you came.

How long have you been waiting me? - I have been waiting for you for about an hour.
