Induce is to cause an event to occur, usually to the self. An example would be after swallowing a poisonous chemical, inducing vomiting could be the best way in which to expel the poison. Produce is the an action that ends with a product. During physical exercise you produce sweat, but it is not inducing because it is an effect from the cause of beginning physical exercise.
