The name was Nalle when Martin Nalle arrived in America in about 1696 from England. The name was later shortened to Nall. Some early American siblings would have different spellings (Naul - Nalls - Null - ect.) Many English people coming to America had experienced forms of religious persecution in their homeland. Some of these people claimed to be Irish due to their hatred of England. Nalle is believed to have been a form of McNalley and other similar names. Nalle may have been Irish but they lived in England for centuries.
