Korean is the official language of only North Korea and South Korea. However, there are large minority groups that speak Korean in China, Japan, US, and Russia.

The majority of Korean people live in urban areas, with the largest concentration in and around the capital city of Seoul. Other large cities such as Busan, Incheon, and Daegu also have significant populations. Rural areas have smaller populations compared to urban centers.

Korean war
A large landmass that juts out from a continent is called a peninsula. Peninsulas are usually surrounded by water on three sides and connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land. Examples include the Scandinavian Peninsula in Europe and the Korean Peninsula in Asia.
India is the large country separated from China by the Himalayas. To the northeast of China lies the Korean Peninsula, which is home to the two countries of North Korea and South Korea.
The Korean Peninsula was once a large nation called 'Chosun 조선'. When the Japanese colonized it in the early 20th Century under Taft-Katsura Agreement, it became a part of Japan. When the Japanese got nuked in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the 1940s, they left the Korean Peninsula and Chosun came back. Then, the USSR decided to spread Communism through the Pacific, and the Korean Peninsula acted as a bridge to Japan, so China acted on the Northern part of the Peninsula and made them attack the South. Then the US and UN army came in to stop the Communism from spreading (that was US' role) and to help the Southern part of Korea (UN's role). So the Korean War started. The Armistice was signed in 1955 (i could be wrong, the war is 'paused' not ended), and the Korean Peninsula was divided along the 38th Parallel. So North and South Korea is officially born. So although the Nations were once together, they got divided in the 50s. (and i know this because i am korean)
