Aberdeen Angus cows come in two colours: Red, which is recognized by the North American breed Red Angus, and Black, which comprises of the breed Angus or, in Canada and the United Kingdom, Black Angus. Such cattle are solid red or black with very little to no white on the underside extending from the navel to the udder or scrotum. Angus beef does not come from any part of any cow, but comes from a BREED of cattle (or cows) called Angus.
Angus are a higher quility beef producer and breeder than Limys [Limosines]. They are all so better show animals. Limys are just ok cattle but real cattle are angus. There are more angus breeders than Limosines.
There are several options as to the best beef cattle to raise in East Tennessee. You can choose Hereford cows, an Angus cross, or Holsteins.
It depends on what you mean by the overly ambiguous term "cattle." Are these cattle Black Angus cattle as well of the same blood-line as the bull you are interested in using, or not? Are these cattle of yours commercial stock of mixed breeds, or purebred Angus/Hereford/Simmental? If the cows you are using these bulls on are purebred Angus cows with known genetic history you don't need to. You can use these bulls for inbreeding to purify your cowherd. You can also use bulls of a different blood-line to improve your herd. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't--that's your decision--I'm saying that you can or can't.
Angus cows are beef cows, not dairy cows. Holsteins are dairy cows, not beef cows, which is where we get the majority of our milk from.
Maybe the farmer or rancher wanted to keep that particular cow along with his black ones. That does happen, you know: a large herd of commercial Black Angus cattle may include a couple Red Angus or Hereford cattle in it.
The weight of Red Angus cattle can vary depending on factors such as age, gender, and diet. Adult Red Angus cows typically weigh between 1,100 to 1,400 pounds, while bulls can weigh between 1,800 to 2,400 pounds. It is important to regularly monitor and maintain a healthy weight for cattle through proper nutrition and management practices.
Most of the cattle in NZ are Dairy cows, and Frisian is the most popular breed because of its good production quantity. (As measured by Milk Solids.) Jersey cows used to be the common dairy cows, but no longer. For Beef cattle, Angus would be among the most popular. Hereford are another popular beef breed.
The things that are made from Angus cattle are exactly the same as what would be made from any other cattle of any other breed: hide for leather; hair for upholstery, paint brushes; the list goes on.
