No, they are not dangerous but Cocker spaniels are high strung and get excitable when people come over, they tend to wet on the floor a lot, as least the three dogs I personally knew.

It depends on the dog. I have two cocker spaniel poodle mixes and they are very friendly. Kids love them! As long as you treat the dogs well, and they are loved they will be kid friendly.
