Yes. Badgers, particularly those in North American grasslands, feast on gophers, ground squirrels, mice, rats, voles and any other small mammal they can catch. They (and their Eurasian relatives) will also eat eggs, young nesting birds, insects, grubs, birds, reptiles including snakes, and earthworms. They have also been known to eat rabbits, chickens, and even try to kill and eat young livestock like baby lambs and goat kids. Sometimes they will also eat roots and berries, but they mainly prefer a more carnivorous diet.
