I have four chinchillas (also, one is pregnant) and you should clean their cage once a week. Setting up a certain day for this cleaning helps. Chinchillas are not that dirty and in fact do not have a natural smell like ferrets (ewww) For the trays in a chinchilas cage, the best thing to do is get a tiny broom and dust pan to sweep off the trays with. Don't forget, Love your chinchilla like a baby!
