No ferrets are not blind. When a baby ferret (also known as a kit) is born, it has a thin layer over it's eyes meaning that it cannot see. This layer eventually goes away and the kit will begin opening its eyes by the age of 5 weeks old and will be able to see.
Though they are not colorblind ferrets see colors differently to us. Ferrets see the world in grey but can also make out certain shades of red and blue.
They are not as common as brown. Also, Ferrets with a whit head may be blind.
Their sense of smell.. Ferret do not see particularly well, and often hunt underground where it's dark. Many ferrets have actually become blind without their owners realizing it until they moved some furniture and saw the ferret running right into it. Having a blind ferret should be fine, since they use their sense of smell, whiskers and hearing so much

Black-footed ferrets are an endangered species. Domestic ferrets are not.
