Yes, they are nice and rarely bite, unless you're really bad to them. Although they can be a little bit noisy and you'll have to clean their cage once a month, but it's definitely worth it. Gerbils make great pet every one has its own funny little personality, they are oly noisy if you keep them in a cage, but if you keep them in a gerbilarium then you cant hear them, also you only have to clean a gerbilarium every 3-4 months I have 3 gerbils. Yes. I have 26 gerbils, and I can tell you they are very good pets. They only need a tablespoon per day per gerbil.

Gerbils are very good pets, very entertaining and fun.

They're fairly easy to take care of, but they are a responsibility. I wouldn't recommend them for children under 7 years of age. They live in groups in the wild, so 2 or 3 gerbils is perfect. (4 might cause fighting between males, but if you have a large habitat it probably won't matter) Gender doesn't really matter other than males tend to fight more than females. Just make sure that you don't have 1 male and 1 female together, or you will soon own a lot more gerbils than you thought you might want! Gerbils are really sweet and seem to have a human personality-they are very smart. Be aware though that they are escape artists, and they can get out of anything! They will chew anything. For cheap toys, I would give them pieces of cardboard and plastic bottles to gnaw on.

Gerbils don't require as much water as other rodents (although it IS NECESSARY) so the urine smell isn't really strong and the cage probably won't smell bad for about 3 weeks. You'll need to clean the cage out every 2 weeks or so, but daily cleaning of their toilet place is good. (Gerbils usually choose one place to use the restroom, a lot of times corners) Despite what most gerbil manuals say, gerbils are awake at night. Their sleep is usually at random hours of the day and night and they don't sleep for too long at a time, so you can play with them in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

yes i think gerbils are very good pets, i think there very cute,but my mom thinks their tail looks like a rats tail but otherwise my moms opinion i think there really cute and good pets :)
