Guinea pigs are vegetarian.

The only exclusion to this is during a short period after a female gives birth, when the female will normally eat the placentas and amniotic sac of the young she gave birth to.

The female may also eat any still borne young, or those that die shortly after birth, but this is hard to verify, as the fact that still borne young are rarely found may be due to a low rate of still births.
