Yes I have had a female pekingese and I have one right now. They love play with children chase them, play with children. They love to be cuddled by children or anybody who will give them attention. They have to be raised with children though if you are going to get one i would make sure you get a puppy so it can adapt to your family as every family is different. We have four children so we have a very busy household.

I have a pekingese and my boyfriend is allergic to dogs but he is not allergic to my dog. The are very clean dogs and the shedding is very minimal. If you need to reduce shedding even further you should get it groomed at least once a month. Also, if your dog happens to shed irregularly then you can use vitiman supplements and mix them in with their food. I've heard it works wonders with other dogs that shed a lot, and I'm sure the Pekingese is no different.
