No bones of any kind should never be given to dog. The bones, even very hard ones, can splinter, and cause serious problems for the dog, and even death. While there are some people who will argue this, saying they've always given their dogs bones with no problems, there are just as many who thought it was safe to do so, only to learn the hard way it wasn't. Some people even think that a dog's digestive system has "acids" that dissolve the bones, therefore making them safe. This is not true! All bones can splinter, break or be swallowed, causing injury to the mouth, throat, esophogus, stomach, intestines and colon. It's not worth the risk, so please, find some other treat for your dog that won't hurt it.
