Rabbits are also prey animals, which makes them prone to nervousness and stress. This is another reason why a rabbit's habitat has to be considered in detail, so that it won't be subjected to stress.

Being prey animals, rabbits also try to hide their illnesses and injuries. Often, when people notice their rabbit is sick, it's too late. This means that, as a rabbit owner, you have to learn about the signs and symptoms of rabbit illnesses and injuries, and you have to observe your rabbit daily to make sure he's healthy and happy. If you notice any signs of ill-health, you need to be ready to bring the rabbit to a vet.

Rabbit vets and supplies can be hard to find because they're not as common as those for cats/dogs. Rabbits are VERY different from cats/dogs, and vets have accidentally killed rabbits by treating them like a cat or dog, so you have to find a vet who is experienced and knowledgable in rabbit care and behaviour.
