Are the ingredients in Sergeants's flea killer any good?

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT ON CAT'SSergeants's Flea & Tick Spray for Cats is what caused my cat's sudden death.
My cat Dewpy, may he rest in peace, died as a direct result of using this product.
Sergeant's Flea & Tick Spray for cats it contains (as reported on the label4)

"Permethrin: [*(3-phenoxyphenyl) methyl (±)cis-trans-3-
(2,2-dichloroethenyl) 2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate] "

According to the well referenced article on Wikipedia on Permethrin3 :

"Permethrin is a common synthetic chemical, widely used as an insecticide, acaricide, and insect repellent...It is not known to rapidly harm most mammals or birds, but is highly toxic to fish and cats[1][2]."

I sprayed this product on my cat's bedding.
The label says:

"Spray Pet Against The Lay Of The Coat, Fluffing Long Hair So Mist Reaches Pet's Skin (include The Legs And Underbody But Avoid The Face, Eyes And Genitalia). The Spray Should Wet Ticks Thoroughly."
I applied the product after having read all the instructions and warnings on the packaging. I followed the instructions down to the letter.
2 hours later I found my cat, eyes-open, dead on the floor. My father who buried the cat said he saw blood on my cats mouth which would be consistent with the fact that this agent is known to cause seizures before death.

My cat trusted me with his safety and I feel so guilty about having used this product, but I assumed that since the EPA approved it for use on cats (EPA Reg. No. 2517-70 08-OCT-20025) and that since it was available on the store shelf at my local Save Mart supermarket that it was safe. But then again this is alsothe EPA that told steelworkers and firefighters that volunteered after 9-11 that the air they were breathing was safe, and now the majority of them are dead or dying. I am ANGRY at Sergeants's for putting an ingredient widely known to cause death in cats on the market and I'm angry at the EPA for approving a product for cat know to be highly-toxic to cats.

I loved my cat SO MUCH and I did everything to protect him against known dangers. I wouldn't even let him outdoors because I was afraid he would get hurt. I'm SO SAD that I'll never see him again. If I would have known that there was even a chance that it would even make my cat sneeze I would have never had used it. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Sergeants's Flea & Tick Spray for Cats caused my cat's sudden death.
