Giraffes can be very dangrous.... however not because of a bite. Though a bite can take a finger. The dangerous part of a giraffe is the head and legs. They swing their head and hit (mainly other giraffes) like a wrecking ball. By far though it is the legs you want to watch for... a good solid kick can kill a person.
In the wild it is really not an issue because a giraffe will run rather than fight... but captivity is another story.
